Row homes. Stoops. Everybody's aunt is your aunt. Sunday means the pot goes on at nine and the table fills by two, whether you called ahead or not.
South Philadelphia teaches you volume and manners in the same breath. Say hello to everyone. Mean it. And never be the guy who backs down when it matters.

02 The Ice
Before the kitchen and before the ring there was hockey. Travel teams, high school, early mornings, long drives, a locker room culture that rewarded showing up hurt.
He walked away at seventeen. Not because he was done competing. Because he found the next thing.
03 The Kitchen
National scholastic culinary competition, first place. Full scholarship to the Culinary Institute of America. Gold medal at the Culinary Olympics.
Baking, pastry, molecular gastronomy — the full classical spine, then the modern tools on top of it. Three and a half years as sous chef at Del Frisco's, running a line that does not forgive.
Precision is the habit. That is what the kitchen gave him, and it is the same habit that runs a fight camp.

04 The Ring
Martial arts from age three. Amateur years nobody filmed. Turned professional at twenty-seven, which everyone told him was late.
Five fights into bare-knuckle he is undefeated and ranked second in the world. The next one is for the title.
“Five fights. Five wins. Nobody has heard the final bell twice.”
05 The Business
Property & Casualty Adjustment Bureau. Prestige Restoration. Premier Construction. Garbarino Adjusting. Licensed across multiple states, with offices in Moorestown and Maryland.
When a family's house burns at four in the morning, somebody has to be standing on the sidewalk when the trucks pull out. That is the job. It is not glamorous and it does not stop for fight camp.

06 Italy
Sicily, then the rest of it. Cousins who cook the same dishes with different names. Streets where a stranger stops dead and shouts the nickname.
People have jumped off Vespas. That happened. It is still funny.
07 The Family
Married to Gianna. Two kids, a third arriving in January, two dogs, and a kitchen that never fully cools down.
The proposal happened in the ring, minutes after a first-round knockout. That is the whole man in one frame: a genuinely dangerous night that ends in something tender.
